Cleansing Balm!!! The Body Shop Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter Review

With relatively fast new interventions in the skincare world, cleansing balms have made a rather powerful entry. Surpassing all the face washes, cleansing oils, makeup removers and other cleansing products; it is not wrong to say that the invention has killed all birds with one stone.

Cleansing balms are oil-based cleansers that remains solid at room temperature. They are warmed  in the hands and massaged onto the skin, then removed with a warm, damp cloth (muslin or flannel) They cleanse beautifully, removing all traces of makeup while leaving the skin feeling exceptionally smooth, plump and hydrated. They are marketed for all skin types, even oily skin!! and especially good for those looking towards anti-ageing products.

The Body Shop Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter

I was never a fan of face washes and makeup removers as they used to dry out my skin (I have normal to dry skin). My skin used to get flaky in the cold winters and was generally dull looking ...but not anymore. Since the day I included it in my skincare regime, my skin has never felt better. It actually worked as it claimed to, made my skin plump, smooth and hydrated.

Its rich waxy consistancy is  gentle to the eyes and removes eye makeup easily and effectively however you need to use a damp wash cloth with it to thouroughy remove it off your skin ( I usually do a double cleanse). It has a sweet floral scent of camomile which I don't mind.
I kind of have a love hate relationship with the packaging which is kind of practical with the tin and screwable lid but it reminds me of shoe polish containers..hehe. It contains some synthetic ingredients as well as a few natural ones like olive oil, Shea butter but as long as it's working for me, and for the reasonable price as compared to the higher end brands like Emma Hardie, Eve Lom, Clinique etc.. I am not complaining. My skin never broke out while using it and it's my second time repurchase. For me it is undoubtedly a gem in The Body Shop's crown. It's price is around Rs 2000 ( $20.50) and available at The Body Shop stores and online as well.

Hope you find the review helpfull. Comment below and share your favourite cleanser...
